Description
Summary:Singapore status as a developed and ageing population country poses a set of challenges. Such as, increased in life expectancy and declining birth rates has caused a significant demographic shift in a population. We are all aware that the government is constantly coming up with new strategies to tackle an ageing population, however, as our overall population continues to age, there is a greater need for more healthcare and social support. Therefore, to encourage sustainable and independent living, an ideal approach would be to come up with innovative solutions that can proactively respond to health issues and immediately notify the respective caregivers. Thus, this project aims to improve the quality of life for the elderly in Singapore by developing a wearable monitoring device and a wireless based sensor system that can locate the whereabouts of our elderly, provide continuous health tracking, detect any anomalies, and send alert notification to the caregiver in real-time.
