Summary:This project seeks to make essential laboratory tools accessible to companies operating on limited budgets. It aims to overcome the challenges of prohibitive costs and limited customization options often associated with commercial laboratory equipment. Specifically, this project presents the development of a low-cost, microcontroller-based temperature control system utilizing a K-type thermocouple sensor. The project detailed the entire development process, encompassing research, design, material selection, methodology, and results. This culminated in the creation of two functional prototypes suitable for laboratory applications. The prototypes offer cost-competitive, adaptable, and modifiable solutions. Proof of concept for high throughput experimentation with the first prototype was achieved. Without sacrificing quality or accuracy, these custom-made lab tools can provide a cost-effective solution, giving companies with limited budgets a competitive edge.
