Description
Summary:Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy using visual art materials. It is a psychotherapeutic approach which makes use of creative process to enhance the well-being of the individual. The individual can express themselves through creative techniques such as drawing, painting, and sculpting. Art therapy sessions are held either weekly or biweekly, thus more sessions may need to be held for art therapist to understand their clients better. This report presents the development of the web application, “Artistique Journal”, which serves to bridge this gap and help art therapist understand their clients even when a session is not held. This will be achieved through the use of journals. Artistique Journal is as an organised platform for user to write daily journals. These journals will be read by the respective art therapist of the user only. This serves the purpose of bridging the gap between the last and current art therapy session. With this web application, the art therapist will understand the user on a deeper level and perform self-reflection with the user based on their journal inputs. The application also comprises additional features including recommendation of stress- relieving and self-expression activities, a chatbot that can engage the user in casual conversation or to provide advice on coping with emotions, a whiteboard for them to make drawings and a word cloud section which shows their emotions for each journal entry. To accomplish these, the project utilised tools and technologies including Microsoft Azure, Python, React Library, Firebase and Rowy.
