Description
Summary:Over the past decade, both unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs) had made drastic technological advancements. UAVs were mainly used in the military and research sectors while AVs were mainly used in the commercial and research sectors. Radio Detection and Ranging (Radar) systems had been incorporated into those vehicles, enabling them to perform a wide array of tasks such as performing an autonomous mission with the least control requirement. This Final Year Project investigates and experiments with the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar used on board the AV with the aid of software MATLAB and Simulink to study the design models and specifications of FMCW as well as the various estimation algorithms used in range, velocity and angle estimation.
