description |
Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) are distinguished by their gradual alteration in composition
and structure throughout their volume. The underlying idea is to create a composite material by
altering the microstructure from one material to another, following a specific gradient. By employing
this approach, engineers gain the flexibility to select materials that align with their objectives,
enabling the resulting material to leverage the beneficial properties of the constituent materials.
With the increasing use of FGMs over time, the significance of studying interactions involving
functionally graded materials is on the rise. Analyzing heat transmission problems with these
materials can be accomplished through advanced analysis and simulation methods. This approach
empowers individuals to acquire insightful insights and, in the end, choose and apply the most
suitable functionally graded material for their specific application.
In this research, the formulation of functionally graded materials is approached using finite volumes.
The theoretical framework relies on the application of the finite volume method (FVM) for
investigating a one-dimensional functionally graded material. To ensure the credibility of the results,
both numerical analysis and Finite Volume Method were conducted on the material to guarantee the
robustness of the findings. |
