While it may be the easiest to buy specialised equipment in bulk for certain purposes, it is crucial to explore how feasible it is to implement low-cost methods in analysing traffic road parameters using current technologies. In this project, we study how processing tools can be implemented to extract useful parameters from video footage captured through a phone. The aim of this report is to show how these processing algorithms can be used to retrieve useful information and aid in developing Singapore’s Intelligent Transport System (ITS).
