Description
Summary:Password based authentication methods are considered to be the weakest link in the cyberworld. It is also the main reason for major data breaches round the world. Facial recognition and fingerprint-based authentication has been gaining traction and are also integrated into our everyday lives. In order to supersede the current passwords with fingerprint or facial recognition systems, there is a need to analyse various algorithms and compare. This project will seek to better understand the prevalence of fingerprint and facial recognition algorithms, implement, compare, and evaluate the performance of these algorithms for online authentication in order to decide which of the two is the better form for biometric based online authentication.
