Description
Summary:As the world progresses into the digital age, the usage of technology such as smartphones has been more prevalent in recent times. With the rise of such devices, it has led to a significant improvement in our quality of life, as its widespread accessibility enables us to carry out daily activities such as communication and entertainment at our own convenience. In recent years, Singapore has been experiencing a boom in the ageing population, due to an increase in life expectancy and low fertility rates amongst the nation. Among this demographic profile, about 10.2% of the elderly are residing alone, having no one to care and cater to their needs. By integrating these points together, this project aims to develop a mobile application for the seniors in Singapore, to aid them in their daily needs. The proposed mobile application also aims to provide an intuitive interface for the elderly, as it should be taken into consideration that the elderly are not as well versed in technology. This mobile application is built using the React Native (RN) framework. RN is an open-source user interface (UI) software framework which allows developers to build natively rendered mobile apps on iOS and Android.
