Summary: | Intelligent windows that adjust their optical properties based on environmental stimuli have the potential to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings and vehicles. This article focuses on examining the electrochromic qualities and exploring the many applications of smart windows that are based on Prussian Blue. An extensive review of the literature emphasizes the inexpensive nature, eco-friendliness, and outstanding electrochromic capabilities of Prussian Blue.
The aim of the project is to conduct an investigation on Prussian Blue thin films to get insights into their structural, optical, and electrochemical characteristics. The results demonstrate that Prussian Blue has rapid and reversible kinetics of coloring and decoloration, together with excellent optical contrast and durability. We assess and enhance the electrochromic capabilities of Prussian Blue smart windows, with the aim of allowing their use in energy-efficient buildings and automotive glass. Despite its tremendous promise, scalability and commercialization continue to pose challenges. This study presents advancements in the field of smart windows using Prussian Blue-based technology and explores the aims of developing electrochromic materials. |
