It presents a substantial challenge to effective communication and quality of life. Current issues with aphasia therapy include the high cost of sessions, a shortage of available therapists, and the inconvenience associated with traveling to therapy appointments. To tackle these challenges, SpeakNow, an aphasia speech therapy application, was developed to offer a personalized and accessible alternative to traditional therapy. SpeakNow is designed to allow therapists and caregivers to tailor therapy content with regards to the patient's progress and preferences, thus optimizing the rehabilitation process. This adaptability not only enhances the therapy experience but also addresses the challenges of limited therapist availability and inconvience of travel by enabling effective at-home therapy. Additionally, its clean interface coupled with gamification elements helps to maintain patient engagement and provide an enjoyable experience that counters the monotony often associated with therapy. SpeakNow developed as a web application with currently industry-standard technology such as ReactJS, Express, MongoDB and NodeJS.
