Summary: | The current technology era is marked by the rapid development of the Internet of Things
(IoT) and advanced enterprise networks. In Singapore, the IoT has become integral to
innovation across diverse sectors. Considering these developments, an IoT Enterprise
Network-focused workshop serves as an ideal platform for educational outreach. It not
only reflects the cutting-edge of current technological trends but can inspire students to
delve deeper into this field, perhaps encouraging their academic pursuits within NTU’s
School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
This report outlines the design and implementation of a two-day workshop tailored for ALevel students, focusing on IoT and Enterprise Networking and seeking to bridge the gap
between theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. The workshop comprises
briefing sessions, IoT network configuration simulations using Cisco Packet Tracer,
practical hands-on activities involving Raspberry Pi and Grove sensors, and discussion
sessions.
In addition to imparting knowledge, the workshop is designed to stimulate interest in
engineering disciplines by fostering early engagement and allowing students to tackle realworld problems through IoT implementations. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in
advancing NTU's educational outreach initiatives. |
