They are cheaper due to less to no rare-earth material used, offer excellent thermal management and high-temperature withstanding ability. Thus, this project aims to get the optimal performance of the doubly salient variable reluctance motor by using a simulation software called JMAG Designer. This report will share about how to use the software, design the motor geometry, add motor parameters, and discuss the obtained results as well.
