Description
Summary:My Final Year Project (FYP) is on Energy Storage System (ESS) based frequency support to power grid. In this project, I have modelled a power system with ESS, where controllers that are commonly used in power systems will be included. As this project is software based, I am using MATLAB Simulink to model and run the code. This project shows the development of a controller for ESS to provide frequency support to the power grid and the development of a System Frequency Response (SFR) model of a power system which will implement the ESS controller in the model to study the frequency support from ESS. Throughout the FYP period, simplified advanced controllers for ESS have been modelled and their effectiveness have been validated and analyzed by the model. The simulation will show how the ESS’s droop control and inertia will affects the output system frequency responses in terms of its damping ratios.
