Description
Summary:The increasing demand for portable electronics with smaller size and enhanced performance has raised the importance of efficient power management topologies. While traditional Low Dropout (LDO) regulators offer stability, their efficiency is severely limited due to significant power dissipation as heat. In contrast, Switched Mode DC-DC Buck converters provide a more efficient solution by exploiting switches and inductors to reduce the supply voltages. MOSFET switches control the charging and discharging of the inductor, converting the stored power into stable output voltage. This approach minimizes component power consumption and enhancing overall conversion efficiency. A proposed inductor-based DC-DC Buck converter with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control ensures regulated output voltage despite input fluctuations, offering a compact and efficient solution for modern portable electronic applications.
