Description
Summary:This project addresses the inherent problem of learning technical topics such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Topics like RFID can often be abstract to learners as the technology uses non-visible radio waves making the topic difficult to visualize and the underlying mechanism of operation hard to comprehend. This project aims to develop an interactive e-learning experience that introduces the technology of RFID to learners. An e-learning website is set up to serve as the platform to host the different learning resources for understanding the fundamental and applied concepts of RFID technology. The e-learning course on RFID will be delivered via a structured learning model covering both theoretical concepts and practical hands-on demonstrations. To facilitate vivid visualization, the course features lecture video to teach the concepts, instructional videos for follow-along demonstration, quizzes for learners to facilitate self-assessment and reinforce their knowledge and a discussion board to allow learners to collaborate amongst themselves discussing concepts, clarifying doubts, and exchanging ideas. In this project, the website is developed using – Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), JavaScript and PHP. Functionality testing is also done to ensure the functional requirements are met to deliver the course smoothly. The implementation of hardware that is used for demonstration of RFID’s capabilities has also been tested and videos will be available for viewing. The project provides the necessary knowledge and skills needed for learners to comprehend the technology and build their own RFID system.
