Description
Summary:Particle acceleration is one of the important aspects of engineering and science for the world as it provides us with many important scientific theories. Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is one type of it; however, it requires a huge area of land and is costly to operate and maintain such facilities. The high demand has led us to study ways to miniaturize them so we make smaller, more efficient, and cheaper particle accelerators, which can make them available for more people to use. In this project, students will study the accelerations caused by magnetic fields to open more opportunities for smaller and more efficient particle accelerators in the fields of medical imaging, security scanning, and industrial inspection.
