الملخص: | Electroluminescence is a phenomenon that generates light through the use of electricity into a phosphor. To create the light, an inverter circuit based on a half-bridge configuration that allows the interchanging of polarity in the electroluminescent film is used.
This project tackles on the circuit designs used to operate the electroluminescent film. Two circuit designs have been designed and constructed, namely the integrated circuit (IC) based inverter and a discrete circuit based inverter. Experimental results, based solely on this project’s configurations, have shown that IC design is more suitable in handling application for general performance, while the Discrete design is more suitable for lower frequency signals, but components can be further upgraded for more hardware performance.
A real-time SPWM program has been written to generate SPWM signals, and two sine tables are defined, one with 10 sine values and one with 36 sine values. Results show that 36 sine values can create a better resolution of wave, but at the expense of producing lower frequency signals.
In future, a custom-made MOSFET driver can be explored, following by a half-bridge circuit with nMOS transistors only. In addition, the discrete design can be used to implement into a portable device for the EL film. |
