The project progress is the ability to control a robot through means of wireless technology. The project in this report mainly focuses on the development of the Wi-Fi module in order for it to communicate with a microcontroller.
The Wi-Fi module comes with a development board with the purpose of configuring and debugging the Wi-Fi module. Once the module is configured, it can be operated with a power source of 3.3 Volts. With a wireless router serving as an “instruction transmitter”, the Wi-Fi module can then receive the instructions from the router and proceed to command the robot movements.
The Wi-Fi robot is designed to realize a new form of virtual reality communication for the toy robot to further improve the interface between virtual reality and the actual physical form. This can truly draw the interaction between virtual reality and actual physical robot nearer as the system allows each movement of the robot in virtual reality to be realized in the actual physical robot. |
