This project mainly focuses on the design and development of novel antenna for commercial demands. The main objective of this project is to make the antenna lightweight, rigid and also low cost to fabricate. This report presents the design and development of a cavity-backed slot antenna using simulation software, High Frequency Simulator Software (HFSS). By the end of the project, this cavity-backed slot antenna is successfully designed, optimized and tested. Two cavity backed antenna will be constructed. The dimension and material are the same; the difference is the feeding network where one of them is using co-axial cable while the other is using strip line. Measurement results shows good matching with simulation and also all antenna specifications and requirements are met. Few designs of the housing of antenna are also constructed.
