Description
Summary:This report describes and records the final year project, titled “Study of surface interaction between metallic nanostructure and bacteria/cells”, done by me under the supervision of Associate Professor Yu Siu Fung from the Division of Microelectronics. The objective of the project is to explore on the interaction between metallic nanosurface, which has nanostructures such as nanorods or nanoparticles that have the potential to deliver ions and the formation of hydrogen peroxide, and organic substrates. In particular, it is intended to show that the some particular nano-metallic structure can kill bacteria and live cells due to the ionic discharge and formation of hydrogen peroxide on the metallic surface.
