The software to be implemented is for controlling the gimbal; a mechanical device which will provide the Azimuth and elevation movement of the experimental system .This azimuth and elevation movement of the gimbal in the receiver terminal is to align itself in Line of sight with the other terminal which acts as transmitter in the experimental system. In the next few chapters, the report will touch on the important concepts of the project including parts used in the experimental setup, its description, the overall working of the system and the software, showing a step by step development procedure for the gimbal control software. The MicroLYNX programming components which is used for controlling the gimbal and C++ programming needed to be done for the image acquisition and analysis will be explained. It will also provide other methods and concepts that has to be used in automated gimbal control. At the end of the report a conclusion summarizing the whole project and the hurdles encountered will be made. The recommendation for further development in the future will also be discussed.
