Summary: | In this report, it will document the processes and results of the Final Year Project (FYP) A3034-081: Media Streaming over Communication Network in the academic year 2008/2009.
The purpose of this project includes the refinement in the features of transmitting the resolution size to different devices across the network, and the streaming of 3D animation data. To achieve these objectives, research on Basic Java Programming, Media Streaming Principle, Java Media Framework (JMF) API and Java3D API were undertaken to reconstruct the Server-Client System based on JMF. Special attention was given to the research on the 3D regime and the Java code writing for the software development aspect in streaming 3D animation data.
This report will first begin by introducing the various terminologies behind the operations of the server-client application such as JMF and Java 3D. The second portion of the report will cover how the software development aspects in terms of refinement of the server-client features for this project are achieved. Illustrations of the user interface at the server and client will be produced. Lastly, the procedure on how the streaming of 3D animation would be accomplished will be described to achieve the second aim of the project. |
