This feature writing package, titled "Faith in Flux: How Youths Navigate Pentecostalism’s Growth in Singapore," explores the engagement of young believers with Pentecostal churches, known for their vibrant worship and emphasis on personal encounters with the Holy Spirit. The package explores the appeal and tensions as these young adults navigate their faiths in the Pentecostal belief and churches. The term "Pentecostal" is used broadly to encompass churches that highlight the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including healing and prophecy, while acknowledging the nuanced distinctions within the broader charismatic movement. Drawing on insights from the State of the Church (SOTC) 2022 and 2023 surveys by Salt & Light, the article examines the notable migration of youths from traditional congregations to Pentecostal communities. It seeks to understand not only the allure of contemporary worship and community within these churches but also the challenges faced by young believers as they navigate their faith amidst cultural and familial expectations. By analysing these journeys, the article contributes to a deeper understanding of how Pentecostalism is reshaping the religious experiences of Singapore's youth and offers valuable insights into the future of Christianity in an increasingly modern society.
