The chatbot gives appropriate exercise suggestions based on a combination of the doctor's recommendations and the patient's own choice of activities. When the patient is not willing to do the exercises recommended, the chatbot has several strategies to persuade the patient to do the exercises. The strategies are chosen dynamically by a persuasion model which is implemented in the backend application. The chatbot is embedded within a mobile application that provides additional features to support the overall goal of promoting a healthier lifestyle with regular physical activity. Additionally, there is a website for doctors to use. They can input patient data, set exercise goals, and schedule push notifications to be sent to the user to remind them to exercise. This assures that each patient gets personalized and timely encouragement. User studies were conducted to test the effectiveness of the persuasion model and the user’s overall experience of the application. The project objective is to create a patient-centric intelligent chatbot, which, on a regular basis,
motivates people to exercise for their own good by promoting self-management of their health
and thus, easing the pressure on the healthcare sector in Singapore. The chatbot gives
appropriate exercise suggestions based on a combination of the doctor's recommendations and
the patient's own choice of activities. When the patient is not willing to do the exercises
recommended, the chatbot has several strategies to persuade the patient to do the exercises.
The strategies are chosen dynamically by a persuasion model which is implemented in the
backend application.
The chatbot is embedded within a mobile application that provides additional features to
support the overall goal of promoting a healthier lifestyle with regular physical activity.
Additionally, there is a website for doctors to use. They can input patient data, set exercise
goals, and schedule push notifications to be sent to the user to remind them to exercise. This
assures that each patient gets personalized and timely encouragement.
User studies were conducted to test the effectiveness of the persuasion model and the user’s
overall experience of the application. |
