Summary: | This report aims to investigate alternative materials suitable for biomedical use, particularly those activated by ethanol and water, as these substances are readily available and safe for human use. Additionally, the report seeks to tap on the unique properties of shape memory polymers for the development of bio-scaffolds in minimally invasive surgical procedures. The focus will be on a shape memory foam that exhibits specific interactions with ethanol and water. Research on the fabrication of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) Shape Memory Polymer (SMP) thin films will also be done and examine their interactions with ethanol and water. |
