Summary: | This project aims to develop a 2-player, 2.5D visual novel based game, Aloha Borealis, to submit to Game Development World Championships (GDWC) and Independent Games Festival (IGF). GDWC and IGF are global game development competitions for game developers across the globe, providing them with a platform to showcase their creation to the world.
This project is a joint endeavour with my team, Aloha, with team members, Chua Yan Peng and Wong Debra, where we aim to provide a fun and engaging game targeting varying groups of players with our unique gameplay, with each member taking on different parts of the game. This report will include the creation process and results of Aloha Borealis, highlighting the visual novel animation (clickthrough scenes), game systems, 2 of the minigames, as well as improvements to user experiences. Aloha Borealis is a 2-player, 2.5D game developed using Unity game engine, consisting of multiple minigames following a story presented in the form of a visual novel. |
