The study begins with a theoretical overview of antenna principles and antenna parameter metrics, highlighting the advantages of Quasi-Yagi design, such as compactness and ease of integration with microstrip circuits. Using HFSS, simulations were conducted on the radiating and feeding sections of the Quasi-Yagi antenna, followed by full simulation of the complete Quasi-Yagi antenna element to evaluate key parameters like gain, impedance, and radiation pattern within the target frequency band. After successfully optimizing a single Quasi-Yagi antenna element, a linear array was developed, and similar performance analyses were performed. Results indicate that, the Quasi-Yagi antenna array shows significant improvements in radiation efficiency, directivity, and bandwidth, making it promising for applications in many different communication systems. This work contributes to the advancement of compact broadband antenna designs to meet the growing demands of high-frequency communication technologies. This dissertation aims at investigating the design and performance optimization
of Quasi-Yagi antenna elements and Quasi-Yagi antenna arrays to assess the potential
role of Quasi-Yagi antennas in modern wireless communication systems
that require high directivity and bandwidth. The study begins with a theoretical

advantages of Quasi-Yagi design, such as compactness and ease of integration
with microstrip circuits. Using HFSS, simulations were conducted on the radiating
and feeding sections of the Quasi-Yagi antenna, followed by full simulation
of the complete Quasi-Yagi antenna element to evaluate key parameters like
gain, impedance, and radiation pattern within the target frequency band. After
successfully optimizing a single Quasi-Yagi antenna element, a linear array was
developed, and similar performance analyses were performed. Results indicate
that, the Quasi-Yagi antenna array shows significant improvements in radiation
efficiency, directivity, and bandwidth, making it promising for applications in
many different communication systems. This work contributes to the advancement
of compact broadband antenna designs to meet the growing demands of
high-frequency communication technologies. |
