Although Ethnic Chinese constitutes the majority of the population in Singapore, the preservation of Chinese culture has been increasingly challenging in recent years due to factors such as globalization and westernization. This phenomenon is particularly evident among younger generations, whose cultural identity and engagement with Chinese culture have gradually diminished. However, Chinese culture continues to play a crucial role in Singapore, where it helps to shape the identity of the Chinese community and contributes to the development of the nation. Therefore, the study on how to preserve and promote Chinese culture in midst of the ever-changing world remains a topic worth examining. This project aims to explore Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) role as a pillar in the preservation and promotion of Chinese culture in Singapore by analysing the projects organised. Since its establishment in 2017, SCCC has been organizing a variety of programs, including exhibitions, concerts, and workshops. This project will focus on examining the strategies and effectiveness of five key projects initiated by SCCC, which include “Cultural Extravaganza”, “Sing•Lang” Concert, “Re•Mix” Youth Cultural Festival, “SINGAPO人” Exhibition, and Culturepaedia. Findings revealed that SCCC primarily targets the younger generation, where it utilises modern approaches, such as integrating Chinese cultural elements with modern music and technology to make Chinese culture relevant and interesting for the younger generation.
