Summary: | White hair, creaking joints and lack of stamina – these symptoms are not unfamiliar to the elderly people in Singapore’s greying population. Growing old is a process no one can escape. But how does one ensure he stays employable despite facing these age-related problems?
做到老 (Live. Work. Die) is a documentary centered on Shon Lee, a 61-year-old man in search for a job. Through his journey, we witness for ourselves what are some employment difficulties facing elderly Singaporeans. Are employers willing to hire them? Is the society willing to give them a chance to stay in the workforce? Or is there another side to the story?
As the story unfolds the realities of available jobs for them, we witness their struggle to eke out a living in Singapore’s fast-paced working environment.
The documentary duration is 20 minutes and 25 seconds. |
