Freethings is an intrinsic project with the simplest intention of making your day while you make others’. It is a collective effort to make your day in hope that it will generate more happy cells and in turn make it a less arduous effort to extend kindness towards other people. The projected vision is to introduce well-designed free gifts and place them in public areas for people to discover. More importantly, these products should be aesthetically appealing, useful and meaningful. Furthermore, the execution and placement of free gifts should invoke an element of surprise to stimulate an excited state of pleasant discovery. This campaign was derived conceptually from the observation that Singaporeans love to use our eye power and we love free things. It helps to integrate my role as a designer on a social level and explore the areas in which the word ‘Free’ encompasses. Overall, it is fun like hell.
