The sun after the rain was very much sought for. But boredom was settling in. So I roamed and my feet brought me to places less traveled. It brought me to the back alleys, narrow pavements, shop-houses, and even dodgy lanes. My sense of touch and sight has to be the most vital element in this journey. I touched, scraped and run my fingers across surfaces, looked out for the perfect fall of light, stopping when I felt or see something unusually appealing. Then I stood back and framed the latent image in my head. The shutter clicked. This project is an adventure into uncommon places and it doesn’t matter where it was taken. It is the idea of ‘stopping to smell the roses’ which mostly occurs when we are in scenic environment looking at what is defined as ‘beautiful’. These are not beautiful images. These are dilapidated facades projected and cropped in a different light. These are portraits so to say.
