Description
Summary:This project aims to compare and contrast existing Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and its variants proposed such as HSTCP, STCP, HTCP, BIC and CUBIC. The aim is to propose another transport protocol in approaching congestion control and avoidance for high-bandwidth delay in the Internet. Several factors will be explored in this project, namely Fairness, Friendliness, Efficiency, Stability and Scalability. Further, the project will also explore router-assisted protocol such as AQM, RED or FDPS for further enhancement. In conclusion, the benefits and disadvantages will be studied and a suitable recommendation based on the experimental results using NS-2 simulator will be presented.
