Summary:This industrial attachment report provides a detailed description of the industrial attachment program undertaken by the student at Goodrich Aerostructures Service Centre – Asia Pte Ltd (GASCA) for the duration of 22 weeks. It includes details of the various assignments and projects assigned and undertaken by the student, as well as, the experiences of the student. This report also provides a brief description of the company. The student was assigned to the Tooling Department. Assistant Engineer, Mr. Sheik Abdullah. M. F. and Tooling Team Leader, Mr. Kong Ah Choy provided the necessary help and guidance from their role as the student’s supervisors throughout the attachment. The student main tasks and projects included: a) Calibration of jigs using portable coordinate measuring machine (PCMM) with Metrolog Software b) Creation of inspection sheets and reports c) Participation in tooling design using 3D Software d) Participation in the development of reverse engineering with Polyworks and T-scan This report is concluded with suggestions from the student regarding various improvements to the program and the functioning of the company as well as the pros and cons of working in GASCA.
