Description
Summary:This project involves the study of horizontal drainage systems and their effect on slope stabilisation. Horizontal drains have been used widely in this region as a means for removing groundwater which is the most common cause for slope instability. Typically, horizontal drainage systems are designed in a prescriptive nature and therefore provide an unquantifiable and relatively independable amount of benefit. Such has been the case in this region where local experience tends to govern the design.
