The construction of infrastructure using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme has been gaining popularity all around the world, notably in Asia. This scheme is so successful due to the ways finance is raised for these projects. This dissertation will look at the BOT process and the accompanying project financing scheme in detail. It explains why performance evaluation of BOT projects is necessary and important and also describes the various stages of conducting a performance evaluation. The stages represent the various phases of a BOT project and each phase presents a different set of criteria for evaluation.
