In the past, contractors very much rely on gut feelings, subjective and intuitive judgments to bid for engineering contracts. Such practices are no longer viable in today's competitive environment. Contractors who wish to stay competitive and hopeful of achieving greater success in the future will need to adopt a more strategic approach to their bidding. This report reviews and recommends short and long term bidding strategies whereby contractors can adopt and adapt to enhance their chances of success in winning a profitable major civil and structural engineering project in Singapore.
