Summary:The purpose of this study is to investigate on the measures to improve project buildability. The report identifies and describes the various possible factors and principles that contribute to good buildability during each project phase. A survey was carried out on a total of 65 different projects in Singapore for a 3-month period to assess their buildability and construction productivity. The analysis shows that generally, projects with good buildability exhibits higher productivity. On the contrary, projects of lower buildability are less productive. A list of principles and practical recommendations for buildability improvement are also presented in this study as an assessment form to assist planners, designers and builders.
