description |
During the past few years, the Singapore government has been encouraging developers/contractors to venture abroad. Numerous measures have been introduced to develop an "External Wing" for the Singapore economy.
Moreover, in view of the limited potential for growth of the local construction market, Singapore contractors are compelled to seek opportunities in the fast growing
Asian markets. This development coincides with the government's call for building an external economy for Singapore. This phenomenon is essentially the "Push and Pull" effect reflecting the hunger for infrastructural development in the Asian countries and the repelling forces to push Singapore contractors overseas for survival
due to limited potential locally. |
