Summary: | This research gives a detail analysis of the rainfall characteristics at five locations in Singapore Island. Of the five tipping bucket raingauges installed, four are sited under the satellite path about 6 km apart in a line-of-sight. The cumulative distribution of rainfall rate could be modelled by a log-normal distribution for rainfall rate less than 72 mm/h and a gamma distribution for higher rainfall rate, or by a power law relationship recommended by CCIR for the whole range of rainfall rate. The appropriate parameters have been obtained for all these models. The relationship between the rainfall rate at one minute integration time and that at 1/2 minute, 5 minute, 10 minute, 30 minute and 60 minute integration time are discussed. |
