Description
Summary:Studies have shown that many sintering defects in metal injection molding (MIM) originate from the molding process and that there is a direct relationship between the green (molded) and sintered dimensions. In this project, the effects of molding parameters on the mass, dimensions and shrinkages of the green parts were examined. The powder used was carbonyl iron. The multi-components binder used consisted of high density polyethylene, paraffin wax, beeswax and stearic acid.
