Description
Summary:The present study was undertaken with the primary objective of solving the agglomeration problem of submicron SiCp(0.8 urn) in the Al-Li alloy(8090) composite. Several mixing methods, particularly mechanical alloying (MA), were employed to mix sub-micron SiCp with Al-Li alloy powders. Results showed that the uniform dispersion of SiCp among the matrix powders was achieved by mechanical alloying with the appropriate parameters, namely 200 rpm for 8 hours.
