In the manual method of producing a bottle mould, a lot of time is spent on repetitive work in producing drawings for mould making as each drawing involves reuse of the product geometry. Paper is the main communications driver medium for manufacturing operations. The whole process is tedious, time consuming and error-prone. In using the CAD/CAM technique, the product model database is in 3-dimensional form, all other information like mould making details can be extracted directly from it.
