Summary: | This study explores the possibility of a networked computerised accounting service for small and medium size businesses. A case study is carried out to determine the information flow of small businesses which can be computerised, and to derive the questions for the focus group interviews. Two focus group interviews are conducted to explore the acceptability of the networked computerised accounting service as a new product. From the focus group findings, there is no doubt that participants require basic accounting and managerial accounting information to run their business successfully. Business development issues in relation to the service are discussed in Section C. A business plan, devised as a by-product of the research to exploit the business idea of a networked computerised accounting service, for small and medium size businesses, is presented in Section C (as Chapter 9). |
