Summary: | The Singapore government has been actively encouraging Singapore businessmen to spread a second wing for the economy. In a recent speech at the opening of parliament, the Senior Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew talked about increasing Singapore's foreign reserve investment in Asia. This represents a significant shift in policy. In the past the Singapore government has been content to invest mostly in developed countries. But with the continual slowdown of Western economies and the fascinating growth in the Asia Pacific region, we will witness more and more investment pouring into Asia. |
