Description
Summary:In view of the increasing rate and high costs of bankruptcy among Singapore companies, effective failure prediction models are useful. Since existing prediction models are either technically flawed, irrelevent to the local context or inapplicable to specific industries, this thesis attempts to construct models that are based on improved statistical techniques and methodology, and local data of specific industries. Two industry-specific models and one general model are constructed for the local private sector. The general model is constructed for comparison with the industry-specific models to test the superiority of the latter.
