Figure 1 shows the current and projected power capacity/ requirement by the various Asian countries by the year 2000. According to a latest industry study by the Political and Economic Risk Consultancy, the projected Asian infrastructure spending for 1994 to 2000 is at US$155 bn. Figure 2 has the breakdown of the amount by country.
