This study presents the implementation of a questionnaire survey cum interview. Variables considered were age, ethnic group, education level, working status, the different perceptions of parental gender roles in parent-child reading, and the attitudes of parents and caregivers. This study also looked at the activities that local public libraries have organised in recent years, and the library's role in promoting family reading and in reaching out to non-readers.
