Summary: | This dissertation was based on research carried out at the Marine Parade Branch Library for the period March 1996 to May 1996. The main objective was to study how usefiil the branch library periodical collections were in catering to secondary school students in their school projects, assignments and syllabi. It used content analysis to code the contents of selected journals against a predetermined list of project topics or subjects. The usefulness of these journals was then measured by the amount of relevant articles they contained. The list of project topics were derived from a simple user study conducted earlier in the research. From the research, 20 titles were identified as usefiil journals for secondary school students. |
