Description
Summary:This study attempted to illustrate how knowledge of the work of a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) engineer can be useful in defining the information needs of the engineer. A survey was conducted to determine the information needs of engineers using a sample from the RSAF. Twenty engineers and the librarians at Air Force Information Resource Centre (AFIRC) were interviewed, and a total of fifty-five engineers from various engineering functions and disciplines responded to the questionnaires. The questionnaire was aimed at ascertaining the problems encountered by the aircraft engineers in finding information needed, and the type of information and sources used in their works. In addition, questions were asked to find out about the availability of resources and library /information sources.
