Description
Summary:This project involves the development and implementation of a prototype knowledge-based statistical process control system (KBSPC System). The development phase of the software system includes problem definition, mathematical analysis, methodology study, software tool selection, software construction, and software testing. The implementation phase includes the integration of the software system into an existing flexible manufacturing system (FMS) to perform real-time quality monitoring, diagnosis, and recommendation of corrective actions for out-of-control conditions. The software system is aimed to assist and provide operational personnel with consolidated, analyzed and useful information for effective on-line quality control of processes.
